Just returned back to the west coast of Italy after a six day road trip. I started in Chianti, and tasted some darn tasty chianti classico and some really spicy, earthy extra virgin olive oil. Every single meal I had in Tuscany was beyond tasty. The vineyards and vistas are beautiful, but I was surprised how mountainous the region was, windy roads and post wine tastings don't mix well!
The final night in wine country I ate at the butcher of Panzano's steakhouse, Officina della Bisteca. A five course, carnivore lovers dream, paired wine homemade wine, local veggies, and local EVOO. If you have not heard of Dario Checchino, you need to youtube him, he is a character!
